Street team marketing is another great option because you can divide and conquer large high foot traffic areas, and street teams can distribute a larger number of samples. Food trucks and mobile marketing trucks are also a great choice.

Since they are mobile, they can be used in a variety of settings and are very efficient from a logistics standpoint. Step 3: Presentation The presentation of your product is everything. Step 4: Product Sampling Staff Your product sampling staff holds the key to making connections with consumers and turning them into customers.

Step 5: Use Targeted Messaging While interactions between your event staff and consumers will typically be short and sweet, you do need to have a few key talking points for the sampling staff to convey.

Step 6: Offer Incentives On top of trying your product for free, give consumers an incentive to buy your product. Step 7: Listen and Gather Feedback Post-event reporting is incredibly important to learn how consumers perceive your brand, your product, and the activation itself.

Some of that was just ego-centrism. Some people are not like that. That was surprising. The amount of compliance — so, how often does somebody answer the responses. We found people to be very dedicated to that, and to be very vested in the process. Even the idea, I wondered, do people find this intrusive, and is it a barrier, and does that become a problem.

A lot of the literature talks about going for about the course of week. So the study that I ran, we did it for a week. That seemed to be about right. I was little but surprised at how vested people were in it. And there are drawbacks to it. There are issues that people who do tend to use it more accurately or more consistently are probably more vested in whatever the behavior is.

Usually you start out pretty well, and then things start to fade a little bit. But those ideas are also powerful in terms of the application of this. While there are certainly flaws, I think that one of the takeaways is that there is a real potential not just for data gathering, but for utility for the clinician and the client relationship.

Takeaway two would be that it can be high tech or low tech. You can make it as complicated or as simple as you can.

And you can make it as complex — you can design computer programs to page and to sample and all these kinds of things. You really can vary the complexity. I think the third thing would be to not be scared off by the statistics. There are some challenges in ESM, in experience sampling method, with that.

So, there are times where higher-level complex statistics are needed. They are very necessary so we are not drawing false conclusions. There are other times though where descriptives are important and valuable.

You have really rich discussions looking at that data or that information over the last week or two. Conner, T. Experience sampling and ecological momentary assessment with mobile phones.

Word of mouth, reviews and peer recommendations are at the crux of any tech marketing strategy. But for older generations and those with more resistance, a sampling event would help show them how to get the most out of tools they might not be able to navigate without in-person instruction.

Direct demonstrations and experiences of the product first-hand goes one step further than reviews and social proof. It helps drive consumers to make a decision. This is especially important for events where you can capture the whole family.

With new technologies, it can be trickier to get older demographics on board. So rather than intruding on their day-to-day, interacting with them in-person and delivering a positive experience with family and friends can open their eyes to a product they might not have considered trying before.

It goes without saying that event attendees during the hot summer months are going to be hungry and thirsty. If you have a food or beverage brand, now is prime time to capitalise on this traffic. By influencing consumer decisions, product sampling can introduce them to new brands they may not have considered in the shops or online.

At summer events, this is the perfect opportunity to engage with your target audience and give them a taste of your product and brand. Summer events are fitting for products such as cold drinks, snacks and other fit for purpose food which will be a welcome addition to their day, with no need for intrusive promotion or advertising.

Invite new people to try before they buy and capture a variety of new audiences. If we reconsider the traffic passing through summer events and those dominant demographics, we can expect to see a lot of millennials and Gen Z. So, what does this have to do with product sampling?

Summer events are complemented nicely by the presence of wellness brands. Fitness and wellbeing brands can engage with them in a positive light and introduce samples that may counteract and balance any unhealthy treats, such as indulgent foods or alcohol!

This insight can help you drive your business model in the direction of increased sales and better consumer relationships. Product sampling gives you the chance to engage face-to-face with your audiences, but the type of event can have an impact in how they receive that messaging.

Summer is a great time to communicate positive messages and offer samples and trials, since people are pumped up to feel great and try new things.
