When a household is selected for verification and is required by the sponsor to submit documents or other forms of evidence to document eligibility, the household must be sent a notice or letter informing them of their selection and of the types of information acceptable to the sponsor.

Sponsors must provide households a means of asking questions about verification by telephone without the household incurring a charge for the call.

Verification documentation can be from any point in time between the month prior to application and the time the household is required to provide income documentation.

Acceptable verification documents are listed for the following forms of income:.
